The Original Millionaire Maker!

John Earl Shoaff

John Earl Shoaff is the well deserved title holder of the "Millionaire Maker." Often referred to as simply "Earl Shoaff," he was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, yet went on to achieve great success in life. He overcame poverty, ill-health and adversity to become a millionaire in his own right. He also inspired many others to achieve great wealth with his renowned seminars.

Shoaff believed in the Laws of Attraction and held the view that it was possible to achieve whatever you wanted in life. He even traveled across America delivering his message, so that others could similarly benefit from this phenomenon. The original and rare Earl Shoaff mp3 recording, from one of his inspirational seminars, can still be heard today.

J. Earl Shoaff - Modest Beginnings

J. Earl Shoaff was born into a farming family, of modest means, on 21 March 1916. A sickly child, Shoaff had a heart condition that impinged upon his quality of life. Dropping out of school at just 14 years of age, Earl secured employment in a local dry cleaners. So conscientious was he that, within a relatively short space of time, he took over as manager of the store.

In his twenties, Earl Shoaff wanted to sign up to serve his country during World War II. His heart condition prevented this and his application was declined. Unwilling to let such a small 'set-back' affect his ambitions, he subsequently volunteered for the American Field Services. Working as an ambulance driver, in the medical corps, Shoaff had to enter active combat zones where he himself suffered serious injuries. The physical nature of the work also took its toll on his heart and caused further deterioration.

After the war, Shoaff married his childhood sweetheart, Flossie. Together they opened "Earl's Cleaners," which was based in Michigan. Later, Earl and Flossie sold the business, opting for the sunnier climes of California. There Earl found a job working in a department store, as a pants presser.

Abundavita

In 1953, the founder of Abundavita, Dr J. B. Jones was the key speaker at a seminar in Long Island, California, primarily designed to recruit distributors, for the vitamin and food supplement manufacturer.

Dr Jones was an advocate of the Laws of Success, and it was this philosophy that ultimately spurred Earl Shoaff on into becoming a millionaire. Based on the model of network marketing, Shoaff saw the potential in the company and immediately signed up to become a distributor. The rest, as they say, is history. Shoaff never looked back and, within a matter of years, was a millionaire himself.

Like Dr Jones before him, Shoaff began giving a series of seminars which talked about the Laws of Success. Indeed, it was Shoaff who, in 1955, recruited Jim Rohn, the great motivational speaker, to become an Abundavita distributor. Rohn states that he became a millionaire by the age of 31, although he subsequently lost his first fortune when the Nutri-Bio Corporation folded (see below).

Nutri-Bio Corporation

The Nutri-Bio Corporation was founded by Earl Shoaff and his business partners in 1957. Manufacturing and selling vitamin and mineral food supplements, their products were marketed as, “better nutrition for the entire family.”  Also adopting the network marketing business model, the company rapidly grew to over 100,000 distributors, one of whom was Jim Rohn. Shoaff soon became a multi-millionaire and Rohn made his first million dollars thanks to Nutri-Bio. Unfortunately, the company was plagued by accusations about their products, by the U.S. FDA, and closed down in 1963. As Jim Rohn's fortune entailed stock options in the company, his millionaire status was lost when Nutri-Bio folded.

Shoaff went on to form Ovation Cosmetics and their products can still be purchased today.

J. Earl Shoaff - Untimely Death

On 5 September 1965, suffering from pneumonia, John Earl Shoaff passed away. He was only 49 years of age.

He leaves behind a legacy of hope, success and fulfilment. The belief that we all have it within ourselves, to achieve greatness and wealth beyond our wildest dreams.

It took J. Earl Shoaff only 4 years to became a millionaire. A selfless individual, Shoaff inspired many other great entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams. Sadly, not much is known about Shoaff. Luckily, a recording made only 3 years before his death still exists. It is the only known original recording of his life-changing "Millionaire Maker" seminar.
